OUR COMMITMENT TO COMMUNITY
To our Rossoblu family,
We reacted to George Floyd’s murder with visceral outrage. We have spent the past ten days listening, researching, and discussing how best to turn this anguish into positive action. We do not take our responsibilities to you or our community lightly. Our core purpose has always been to build a healthy company, with healthy people, in a healthy community. This has not changed. We understand that the fight against institutional racism and discrimination is a monumental task. As you know, one of our Core Values is compassion, therefore we pledge to take the following stances to make sure we are on the right side of this fight:
We stand with the black community in the struggle against systemic racism and police brutality.
We stand against racism, injustice, inequality, and discrimination in all their forms.
We fully support all Rossoblu family members who engage their right to peacefully protest against any form of discrimination.
We make the following commitments to support the fight against all forms of discrimination:
We are creating a volunteer-led diversity/inclusion committee to further ensure our team’s diversity.
We are instituting mandatory anti-racism, diversity, and inclusion training for all team members.
Through our partnership with Independent Hospitality Coalition, we will encourage all restaurant and hospitality workers to register to vote so that their voices can be heard.
We will hold a Rossoblu team town hall so each team member can be involved.
We strongly believe that education and youth mentoring are the keys to progressive change. As such, we will donate monthly to the following organizations:
BEAM (Black Emotional and Mental Health) Collective
We will continue to partner with the following organizations that work to empower marginalized communities, especially within our industry and the food community.
Thank you for your compassion, determination, and support during this time. We will keep you updated as these initiatives develop, along with updates regarding opening the restaurant for dine-in service.
With Love & Compassion,
Dina, Steve, and Hans
